Women's Untold Stories

Untold Stories

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." ~ Maya Angelou

Thank you Maya Angelou for sharing your stories with the world. Many a great story has she told. What an incredible women she was. RIP

Why do so many women choose to keep their stories locked up?
For many reasons...

Because of fear of the reaction of a partner, reaction from their family, reaction of friends and colleagues etc. Fearful of an abusive reaction, fearful of judgement, fearful of their own pain...shame...guilt! Fear of ourselves!!

But that fear and pain keeps us hostage and keeps us from being who we truly are. When you share your story it unlocks the vault and loosens the shackles so to speak. There is a huge sigh of relief, a certain sense of freedom that comes over us. We have now taken back the power and control of our own lives...the first step on a journey of healing.

I just needed to say that today after a conversation I had with a friend around the twitter feed hashtag #YesAllWomen where women are sharing some of their deepest fears and experiences. But not everyone can post on such public platforms...for fear of REACTION!

We all have a voice, a story and need to be heard...and I for one am listening!
